On this week’s edition of Inside Carolina Live, Tommy Ashley and Joey Powell spoke about everything related to Roy Williams’ retirement — from the future of the program to potential head coach candidates.

Williams announced his retirement on Thursday, bringing an end to a Hall of Fame career that saw him lead UNC to three national championships. He eclipsed 900 career wins earlier this season — becoming the fastest coach in college basketball history to reach that mark.

The UNC head coach job is open for the first time in 18 years and betting sites have quickly placed odds on several high-profile coaches to land the job. Among the names reportedly in contention are current UNC assistant coach Hubert Davis and UNC-Greensboro head coach Wes Miller.

Ashley and Powell were joined by several guests on this week’s edition of Inside Carolina Live — including former Williams assistant coaches C.B. McGrath and Bobby Frasor and former UNC basketball star Shammond Williams.
