Four UNC women’s soccer players were called up to Team USA and will compete with the Under-20 team in France later this month, the program announced on Tuesday. Emily Colton, Talia Dellaperuta, Avery Patterson and Ally Sentnor will represent their country in the four-team Sud Ladies Cup in Aubagne.

The four Tar Heels will be joined by 15 other players on the team. Colton, Patterson and Dellaperuta previously suited up for Team USA in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship and qualified for the World Cup this past winter. Patterson and Dellaperuta combined for eleven goals during the tournament.

Sentnor returns to Team USA for the first time since tearing her ACL at the beginning of the last UNC season. She did not appear in a single game for the Tar Heels, but has suited up with the U-18, U-17 and U-15 youth teams for Team USA.

The Americans will face France, Mexico and the Netherlands later in June. The 2022 U-20 Women’s World Cup, which will include all four teams competing at the Sud Ladies Cup, will take place in Costa Rica from August 10 through August 28. The final American roster will be selected following the conclusion of the Sud Ladies Cup.
