To commemorate Kenan Stadium’s centennial season, 97.9 The Hill is inviting community members to share their favorite Kenan memories from the past 100 years. This twice-weekly series will showcase stories from players and fans throughout the fall.

Longtime listeners of 97.9 The Hill now know Jones Angell as the Voice of the Tar Heels, but Angell grew up as just another fan from Jacksonville, N.C. In today’s installment, Angell remembers his first time attending a UNC football game in Kenan Stadium, and why the circumstances of that day provided a good omen of things to come in his life.
