A project to replace the roof of Memorial Hall on the UNC campus began last week and is expected to run through at least October of this year. The project encompasses a comprehensive replacement of the entire 20,000-square-foot roof footprint.
During the replacement, the Memorial Hall loading dock and a portion of the Hanes Parking Lot will be closed. Walkways and building entrances along the perimeter may also be closed as needed. Pedestrians are encouraged to remain alert to activities in the area and to follow signed routes.

Elsewhere on campus, a portion of William Blythe Drive has been closed to through traffic since June 17 to facilitate utility work related to ongoing construction of Bell Hall. UNC said it expects the portion of the road – between Hibbard Drive and the access road to the Craige Parking Deck – to be closed for approximately the next five weeks.
During this time, traffic will be detoured along Manning and Skipper Bowles Drives. Pedestrians should use designated access routes only.
