UNC Transportation & Parking is partnering with the university’s Institute of Politics to help students vote early ahead of the primary elections.
The Civic Engagement Action Coalition, which is affiliated with the UNC Institute of Politics, is collaborating with the transportation department on the Early Voting Shuttle, which will take students to the Chapel of the Cross polling location on East Franklin Street. The special Point-to-Point service will run Thursday, February 26, and Friday, February 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. According to social media posts from the coalition and university, buses will run the four-stop route every 30 minutes to help students on south campus travel to Franklin Street.
The four stops of the Early Voting Shuttle are:
- Manning Drive at the Public Safety Building
- Bowles Drive at Hinton James Resident Hall
- Ridge Road at Ehringhaus Residence Hall
- E. Franklin Street at Morehead Planetarium
While the Early Voting Shuttle is to help UNC students ahead of Election Day, there will still be additional and accessible places for on-campus residents to cast their ballots. The UNC campus community has a polling location on campus for the first time in years after a change to voting precincts. Those who live on campus and did not vote early can visit the Sonja Haynes Stone Center on Tuesday, March 3, to vote.
