The UNC Police Department recently warned the campus community about an “inappropriate touching” incident near students housing on Thursday.
The Alert Carolina system, which sends out emergency notifications, said UNC Police and Chapel Hill Police are investigating a report from the night of April 29 in the parking lot of Granville Towers. According to the message, a female victim said a white male inappropriately touched her around 10 p.m.
The suspect in the case is described as having short, buzzed hair and was riding a blue or black bike. They are not in police custody, according to Alert Carolina, and the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with potential information regarding the incident is encouraged to call 911, said UNC Police. Reports on inappropriate behavior on or near the UNC campus can be reported to the police department on the Safe at UNC website.
