Nine UNC administrators were given raises by the university Board of Trustees during the meeting on Thursday.
Athletic Director Bubba Cunningham received the biggest raise to $642,268, a $58,388 bump – which is a 10 percent increase over his previous salary.
The raises were part of the consent agenda at the full board meeting after a mail ballot was sent out in late November, 2015.
Raises were also given to vice chancellor for student affairs Winston Crisp, vice chancellor for communications and public affairs Joel Curran, executive vice chancellor and provost Jim Dean, vice chancellor for research Barbara Entwisle, vice chancellor for finance and administration Matt Fajack, vice chancellor for ITS and CIO Chris Kielt, vice chancellor for development David Routh and vice chancellor for workforce strategy, equity and engagement.
While Cunningham received the largest percentage raise, the others range from one to seven percent increases with salaries ranging from $321,453 up to $462,800.
UNC Chancellor Carol Folt was also given a 9.62% raise to $570,000 by the Board of Governors in a November meeting.
Meanwhile, all state employees were give a one-time $750 bonus by the General Assembly in 2015.
