The Town of Chapel Hill announced Monday there will be lane closures through the week to install colorful crosswalks at a popular intersection downtown.

A release from the town said a contractor will close lanes around the intersections of Rosemary Street and Church Street. Delays should be expected from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday through Thursday. One lane in each direction will be closed during the installation. Flaggers will assist travelers and maintain through traffic in both directions at all times.

The artwork will be the latest addition to Chapel Hill’s collection of colorful crosswalks. Other paintings can be seen at other intersections along Rosemary and the first was painted in 2016 on Willow Drive.

More information on the town’s colorful crosswalks can be found on the town’s website.
