UPDATE (4:20 p.m.): The Town of Chapel Hill says that West Cameron Avenue is now partially open, and flaggers are on site to help move traffic.
8:25 a.m.: Duke Energy is reporting the power is back on for all affected customers.
Chapel Hill officials are asking drivers to find alternate routes as a downed tree has shut down a portion of West Cameron Avenue.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Monday, October 13, blocking West Cameron Avenue between Basnight Lane and Kenan Street. The falling tree also took down utility lines; Duke Energy is reporting 607 customers without power as of 5:28 a.m.

If you’re driving in the area, town officials suggest taking West Franklin Street as a detour.
