Authorities from the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons, at the request of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, activated a Silver Alert late Wednesday for Ethel Mae Puckett and Leroy Puckett.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office officials say Puckett’s name could also be spelled Leeroy.

Officials said 62-year-old Ethel Puckett is a member of the sheriff’s office Life Track program, which is a “rapid response program used to locate people with cognitive or mental health needs who wander away from their caregivers.”

Puckett’s tracking device was located “not far from her residence,” according to authorities, but she remains missing. She is described as a white female, roughly 5 feet 4 inches tall and was last seen wearing a pink jacket, charcoal sweatpants and brown boots. Leroy Puckett is 72 years old and estimated at 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a dark gray sweatshirt, sweatpants and a black toboggan.

A release from the sheriff’s office said that family members are concerned for the couple’s well-being. The Pucketts are believed to have left their residence on foot and may be trying to get to Ohio.

They were last seen around noon on Wednesday near their residence in the Eno Mobile Home Park off Highway 70.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at (919) 644-3050.
