Emergency crews are on the scene of a reported gas leak in downtown Chapel Hill Monday morning.
Chapel Hill Fire crews along with Dominion Energy officials responded to the 100 block of East Franklin Street just before 8:30 a.m. Monday to investigate the reported gas leak. Crews are still searching for the source of the leak as of 9 a.m., officials said.
Travel lanes are closed on Franklin Street between Columbia Street and Peace and Justice Plaza, according to town officials.
