An investigation has been launched after a three-year-old child in the custody of the Orange County Department of Social Services died early Monday morning.
County officials say Hillsborough Police are working with the state medical examiner’s office to determine the cause of death. A release says that “foul play is not suspected.”
Orange County Director of Social Services Nancy Coston released the following statement in a release:
“We extend our condolences to the family and all the individuals impacted by this unfortunate tragedy. We are cooperating fully with the investigation. A full and thorough review of this incident will be undertaken, and the results will be released at the appropriate time.”
