After struggling to find information on the death of a man, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the family of the victim unveiled a new tactic Wednesday.

A billboard over US Highway 421 in Siler City asks people for any leads they may have on the hit and run that killed Thaj Singleton last September. The 18 year old was driving home from work when his scooter was struck from behind.

Placed near the crash location, the billboard asks, “Do you know who hit me,” and displays Singleton’s portrait beside his wrecked motor scooter.

In their official statement, the Highway Patrol said evidence at the scene suggests the Chatham County native was struck by a box truck during early morning hours. They hope the billboard will bring forth some new information and find justice for Singleton’s family.
