The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s intercity bus service is adding a new stop in Chapel Hill. Buses will pick up passengers at the Eubanks Park and Ride Lot in Chapel Hill four times a day. The lot is located at 2000 Eubanks Road in the Carraway Village mixed-use development.
The intercity service is operated by Greyhound and FlixBus and began August 1. The statewide program offers connections to both regional and national destinations, including Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Richmond, Washington, D.C. and New York City. Two additional trips will launch August 28 and will run daily and five times weekly, respectively.
The routes are a result of a collaboration between NCDOT and the Chapel Hill Transit bus service.
“We’re excited to share our Eubanks Park and Ride stop with FlixBus and Greyhound and partner with the NCDOT to improve access to intercity bus services,” said Chapel Hill Transit director Brian Litchfield. “By integrating our stop into their network, it gives Chapel Hill, Carrboro and the UNC-Chapel Hill communities more ways to stay connected throughout the state and larger region. This partnership underscores our commitment to supporting affordable, sustainable, and convenient transportation solutions that benefit our residents and the broader region.”
NCDOT funds the intercity bus service with both federal and state support. For more information on the service and to view a map of stops in North Carolina, click here.
