According to Beauregard’s announcement on social media, his campaign has four priorities: housing, the environment, safety and opportunity.
“Tens of thousands of bright young minds and budding entrepreneurs filter through Chapel Hill on a regular basis,” reads Beauregard’s website. “And yet very few stay to hone in their craft and contribute to the local economy.”
Beauregard describes himself as a “life-long Triangle-area resident who is committed to public service, urban excellence, and helping build a Chapel Hill for all.” He received his undergraduate degree from UNC in 2022 and is currently pursuing master’s degrees in public administration and city & regional planning. Beauregard also serves as the local relations director for the graduate and professional student government.
“We cannot betray our town’s progressive spirit by failing to do the right thing because doing the right thing is difficult and uncomfortable,” Beauregard said. “The best things in life rarely ever come easy.
“For far too long, Chapel Hill’s politics have been dominated by a culture of ‘No.’ It’s high time we embrace the future, bring about a better tomorrow, and start saying ‘Yes!’ for a change.”
