Orange County Government is asking residents to participate in an online survey that will help determine potential strategies for recovering from the pandemic.
Community members are asked to take the 10-minute survey before it closes on Friday, December 11.
The Orange County Long-Term Recovery Group has identified potential strategies for recovering from COVID-19. The survey asks participants to rate each strategy’s importance on a scale of 1 to 5 in meeting the community’s needs.
Some strategies that can be ranked include stimulating local economic growth, continuous COVID-19 testing and emergency housing assistance.
Survey results will be used to help determine the priority order of strategies in a long-term recovery and transformation plan. According to the county, the strategies will be further refined by representatives of historically underserved communities.
The recovery group is a partnership of nearly 150 community stakeholders, Orange County and the towns of Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough.
The Town of Hillsborough asks that residents share the survey with their respective networks ― particularly within communities of color or historically underserved groups ― to help obtain input from all community members.
An assessment of COVID-19’s impacts thus far in Orange County shows the pandemic appears to be exacerbating pre-pandemic issues in health, the economy, housing, and social services. The work of the Long-Term Recovery Group can be seen on the group’s website.
Take the survey in English, Spanish or Chinese here.
