The search for Chapel Hill’s next town manager is ongoing.
Roger Stancil announced late last year that he would be retiring after serving in that role for the last 12 years.
The Chapel Hill Town Council will hold a listening session on Monday night at the Chapel Hill Public Library.
“We’re going to give you an update on the process so far,” Chapel Hill Mayor Pam Hemminger said about Monday night’s meeting, which is expected to be attended by a majority of the Town Council. “A chance to talk about what you’d like to see and the questions you think we should be asking.”
The town recently accepted applications from residents who wanted to serve in an assessment role in varying scenarios for manager candidates. Those appointments are expected to be made this week.
Hemminger said the town is hoping to appoint a new manager in June who could then take over work their way into the job before Stancil officially retires this fall.
Monday night’s meeting at the library is scheduled to begin at seven o’clock. For those who cannot attend Monday night, the town is still accepting comments through an online survey or via email.
