The American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive at the Orange Water and Sewage Authority on Thursday, June 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the community room on the lower floor of the Administration Building.
The American Red Cross stresses the importance of a blood drive happening at this time of year. During the summer months donors are less apt to give blood.
Reminding people that hospital patients do not get a summer break from needing blood. Ryan Corcoran, donor recruitment director for the Carolinas Blood Services Region said donating blood can make a world of difference.
“The hour it takes to give the gift of life can mean a lifetime to a patient with a serious medical need,” Corcoran said in a release.
The Red Cross asks donors to be in good general health, weigh at least 110 pounds and be 17 years old.
