A Chapel Hill Police officer discovered a fire on the back side of 143 East Franklin Street Saturday morning that damaged Shanghai Dumpling.
Officials said the fire was discovered around 12:45 a.m. Saturday and was under control in about 20 minutes.
No injuries were reported, but the restaurant is closed until further notice.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
