Pedestrians that frequent South Cameron Street in Hillsborough will benefit from a new sidewalk that is expected to be built along that road over the next month.

Municipal planners predict that construction on the sidewalk will last until June 30 and render certain parking spaces inaccessible while labor is underway.

A larger infrastructure overhaul project is also taking place in Hillsborough that will add functional improvements to downtown streetscapes.

That project began in April with the support of the North Carolina Department of Transportation and may take more than eight months to complete.
