Franklin Street’s new Carolina Square has been awarded Best Development Project Award by Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women.

Construction on the $120 million development began in the summer of 2012. It now boasts 43,000-square feet of retail space and nearly 160,000-square feet of office space, along with 246 apartments.

Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women, or Triangle CREW, is a forum for meeting and building relationships in the real estate field that focuses on networking and promoting opportunities among women.

NC Farm Bureau policy director Lynda Loveland presented the award, who called the development a “vibrant, new, vertically integrated, mixed-use community in the heart of a college town,” according to a release.

Courtney Schnee of Northwood Ravin Development accepted the award.
