Hillsborough and North Carolina authorities arrested an Orange County man on Thursday over charges of indecent liberties with a child.
A release from the Hillsborough Police Department said its officers and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation arrested 20-year-old Zachary Jeremiah Dalton at his residence on Thursday. Dalton faces additional charges of solicitation by computer and sexual battery. According to the release, the alleged incidents took place over a four-month period from late 2022 through earlier this year.
Police said Dalton is being held at the Orange County Jail under $5,000 secured bond over the charges.
Additionally, the Hillsborough Police Department said it is asking for the public’s help in “providing additional information about the suspect.” Those who come forward are encouraged to contact Investigator Van St. Pierre with the department by email or phone (919-296-9533).
