The Hillsborough Police Department is looking for information about a theft at Home Depot from Tuesday that injured one of the home improvement store’s senior employees.
Police shared a video on social media Wednesday details a larceny at the Home Depot in the Hampton Pointe shopping center. In it, a person in a mask and a hoodie walks out with a full cart.
An employee wearing a Home Depot apron, who Hillsborough Police said is 82 years-old, walks out to stop the suspect from leaving. The masked person then pushes the employee out of their way, causing them to fall.
Hillsborough Police asked the public for help identifying the suspect, calling the person a “menace to society.” The Facebook post said the suspect is believed to have left in a white, four-door Hyundai Sonata car with a North Carolina temporary tag.
Police encouraged anyone with more information on the theft or suspect to contact Investigator Jones with its department either by email or calling 919-296-9562. The Hillsborough Police Department also said people can message them on Facebook with tips.
