After the arrest of a suspect in a burglary and peeping case, the Hillsborough Police Department is asking any other potential victims to come forward with information.

A release from the department on Friday night said Hillsborough investigators arrested 29-year-old Donald Lewis Jr. on Tuesday, January 16 over an incident that took place five days prior. According to the alert, officers responded to a suspicious person report in “a neighborhood off of College Park Drive” — which is in southern Hillsborough. Around 7:30 p.m. on January 11, a person was allegedly seen “recording a victim through a window.” Police said the person then reportedly tried to enter the residence.

Lewis, who is a Durham resident, faces charges of felony attempted first-degree burglary and misdemeanor secret peeping. He was taken to the Orange County Detention Center upon his arrest and was released on Wednesday after his first court appearance.

Hillsborough Police said additional charges against Lewis are pending and investigators “are concerned” there may be other victims. Friday’s release said Lewis was driving a black Nissan Maxima the day he was arrested and which may have been used during other peeping incidents.

Those community members, or others with information about any peeping incidents or similar suspicious activity, are encouraged to contact Investigator Andrew Jones by email or phone (919-296-9562). Additionally, anonymous crime tips can be reported by calling 919-296-9555, messaging the police department through its Facebook page, or using the See it, Say it, Send it app and website.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the incident took place at Cadence at Cates Creek apartment. The incident instead happened in a different, nearby neighborhood off of College Park Drive — which was unnamed by Hillsborough Police in their release.
