A 46-year-old man has been arrested by Hillsborough Police on drug charges following a party at his house earlier this month that was attended by juveniles, according to police.

Ryan Douglas McDonnell, of 523 Lafayette Drive, was arrested on December 12 and charged with felony manufacturing of a schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, aiding and abetting the sale or purchase of alcohol by underage persons and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities say police responded to McDonnell’s residence around nine o’clock in the morning on December 4 to a report of juveniles drinking alcohol. Police say the responding officer “smelled a strong odor of marijuana” when a juvenile opened the door.

Officials say officers received consent to search the property and found marijuana growing equipment and a marijuana plant, all of which was seized by officers.

Police say the investigation showed a party had occurred at the residence where an estimated 15 juveniles were drinking alcohol and possibly smoking marijuana.

McDonnell was released after posting a $5,000 unsecured bond. Police say juvenile petitions have also been sought for a white male in the case.
