A Chatham County man was arrested on child sexual exploitation charges after the FBI searched a home at 648 Spindlewood in Fearrington Village.

Federal authorities with assistance from the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office arrested 76-year-old Jay Emmer on January 16, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

Emmer was charged with nine counts of felony sexual exploitation of a minor, according to law enforcement. No other details of the investigation were immediately available.

He was released under a $10,000 unsecured bond and is due in Chatham County District Court on February 4.
