The Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured one person on Monday night near an apartment complex.

A release from the department said officers responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Formosa Lane, which is a road in the Greenfield Place apartment community. The release said one person was transported to UNC Hospitals with a gunshot wound. A follow-up alert on Tuesday morning said the victim suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound.

No information on a suspect or suspects was publicly shared by the Chapel Hill Police in Monday’s release. Tuesday’s update said police believe the shooting to be an isolated incident.

Investigators did encourage anyone with information about the shooting to call 911 or contact the Chapel Hill Police Department at 919-968-2760 during business hours.
