UPDATE: Chapel Hill Police issued an alert saying Johnathan Lemount Florence was taken in custody in Guilford County on Thursday, August 29. He faces charges of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony larceny stemming from the bank robbery and is set to appear in Orange County court on the charges at 2 p.m. on October 8.

The Chapel Hill Police Department is investigating a bank robbery which reportedly occurred at the Bank of America on 100 Banks Drive, just off of Weaver Dairy Road, at about 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police say 52-year-old Johnathan Lemount Florence entered the bank, implied he had a gun and demanded money. He then left the scene and may be driving a red 2003 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck. No injuries were reported. Police also say charges in the case are pending.
