Beginning next week, the Orange County Health Department will offer free COVID-19 tests to all residents who need one.

Tests will be available at the Whitted Human Services Building (300 West Tryon Street, Hillsborough) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day beginning on Monday, October 26.

The only day when tests will not be available will be on Election Day — Tuesday, November 3.

Anyone is welcome to get a test and online pre-registration is encouraged. Registration may also be done on site and COVID-19 tests are free.

This announcement comes shortly after Chatham County announced it will hold free weekly testing events at several different locations. Starting on Monday, community members can receive either free nasal swab tests or $50 antibody tests at Chatham Central High School off N.C. Highway 902 in Bear Creek.

Visit the Orange County Health Department’s website for more information on daily testing events.
