The Durham Technical Community College announced it would be closing its Orange County campus on Thursday due to coronavirus response protocols.
In an alert sent to the community Thursday afternoon, the community college said it is investigating a reported case of COVID-19. If confirmed, the college’s Safety Compliance Officer will begin conducting extensive contract tracing to check in with those who were potentially exposed.
In addition, buildings on the Orange County campus will be deep-cleaned and sanitized, remaining closed for Thursday until a review and approval from Durham Tech’s COVID-19 Response Team.
The community college has been holding some in-person instruction for training classes and hybrid courses, despite mostly operating online. According to Durham Tech’s COVID-19 Response page, the college is currently monitoring one active coronavirus case and has reported three others within its community the past few months.
