A Chapel Hill family’s dog might be the first reported in the country to test positive for COVID-19.
The dog in question is a pug named Winston, who was tested in a study at Duke after its owners tested positive for the coronavirus, according to WRAL.
The family’s mother, Heather McLean, said she noticed Winston coughing, sneezing and not eating his meals. He was the only one the McLeans’ pets that tested positive, after the family’s other dog and cat were also tested.
One of the first reports of an animal in the United States testing positive for COVID-19 came from New York, when a tiger at the Bronx Zoo tested positive in early April. Last week, two pet cats in New York became the first reported companion animals to test positive for the virus.
According to WRAL’s report, Winston is feeling better and only suffered symptoms of the virus for a few days.

Why won’t the town of Chapel Hill release figures on how many people in the town have tested positive for Covid-19?
Is it because the town is the epicenter of the Coronavirus pandemic in Orange county due to the CHCSS mismanagement?
We need to make informed decisions.
