Lowes Foods will open a new location in Pittsboro on Thursday, June 29. The grocery store will be located at the intersection of Highway 15-501 and Northwood High School Road, near the MOSAIC development in Chatham Park.

A ribbon cutting featuring Lowes Foods president Tim Lowe and various community guests will take place at 7:55 a.m. on June 29 before doors open at 8 a.m.

Inside the store, customers will find several Lowes Foods Originals, such as the Beer Den, which offers selections of local beers. The Community Table, constructed of reclaimed wood from local barns, will serve as a site for events like recipe sampling and children’s activities. The store’s deli will offer three Lowes Foods Originals, including the sandwich and pizza shop Sammy’s.

The new location will also have online shopping through Lowes Foods to Go. The store is the second Lowes Foods location to open in Chatham County, but the first to do so in the town Pittsboro. Other businesses near the new store in MOSAIC include a Jersey Mike’s Subs and the restaurant Greek Kouzina.
