Pittsboro’s MOSAIC, the 44-acre community center for the massive Chatham Park development, revealed six new businesses which will open their doors over the next two years.

MOSIAC made the announcement through a post on its Facebook page. The new businesses are Verizon, New View Eye Care, the Flying Biscuit Cafe, First Horizon Bank, a Tavolo Italian Eatery, and Pecan Jacks Pittsboro.

“We are committed to curating the right tenant mix to serve our community,” said Kirk Bradley, one of the developers of MOSAIC and the CEO of Lee-Moore Capital. “We are providing a high-quality retail and amenity-rich environment to ensure the viability of local business owners and regional brands alike.”

a Tavolo is the next restaurant from the owners of the Sycamore and 39 West Catering. It will feature “fresh pastas, pizzas, and entrees in an elevated-casual atmosphere with a full bar.” According to a release from Chatham Park, a Tavolo is scheduled to open to diners in August.

The Flying Biscuit Cafe’s Pittsboro location will be its 35th in the Southeast. Locally, it was preceded by Chapel Hill’s Flying Biscuit location at University Place, which the chain first opened in January 2022. Workers will begin constructing the building this month and the restaurant will open in the third quarter of 2027, according to the release.

Pecan Jacks is a growing ice cream chain, that also offers pralines and alcohol-infused desserts. Its Pittsboro location will be its first in North Carolina and is part of an ongoing franchising effort. The business, which is headquartered in the Florida panhandle, is set to open its Pittsboro store in “late summer.”

The other three businesses will be moving in right near the new food offerings coming to MOSAIC. The new Verizon store will share a building with Pecan Jacks and open in the fourth quarter of this year, while New View Eye Care will neighbor Flying Biscuit and open in March 2027. First Horizon Bank’s new location will be a freestanding building located at 99 Russet Run. It will be Pittsboro’s second branch, and does not currently have an expected opening date.

“These new businesses are another sign of the confidence companies have in Pittsboro and where our community is headed,” Pittsboro Mayor Kyle Shipp told Chapelboro.com. “We’re excited to see MOSAIC continue to grow with businesses that expand opportunities for our residents while complementing the unique character that makes Pittsboro such a special place.”

MOSAIC said eight of its 17 planned buildings are complete in the mixed-use development, and it expects to complete the entire project by 2030.
