After a months-long renovation in the space that formerly housed the Rathskeller, Gizmo Brew Works is set to hold a grand opening celebration through the upcoming weekend.
The Raleigh-based brewery will be having a wide opening celebration beginning Friday February 7 to Sunday February 9 at its new taproom off Franklin Street.
A post from Gizmo advertises a weekend of live music performances at the taproom and many beer options from its own creations to other craft breweries from North Carolina and the U.S. The Chapel Hill taproom, the brewery’s first taproom location beyond its brewery in Raleigh, has had a soft opening since the end of 2019.
The approximately 4,500 square-foot space was previously occupied by the Rathskeller, a local staple that closed permanently in 2007 after residing there since the 1940s. Construction and renovation to the space moved a reported spring 2019 opening date back.
Gizmo Brew Works was established in Raleigh in 2013. A list of their beer offerings can be found on the Gizmo website.
