The Burlington Shoes store in University Place has officially closed.
The Chapel Hill shoe outlet is in the process of packing up its inventory and is no longer open to customers. It becomes the latest mall vendor to permanently close in 2020, joining the retail store Southern Season.
While Burlington closes, however, another mall vendor has opened in a new location. The Night Gallery / Branching Out store recently began welcoming customers to its renovated exterior store front beside William Travis Jewelry.
Another existing store will be moving beside the clothing and antiques shop soon. Later this year, the Verizon location currently inside the mall will soon move to be between Night Gallery / Branching Out and Hawkers Asian Street Fare.
In addition to those changes, University Place is continuing renovations to create additional store fronts on its exterior. The construction is part of its ongoing Phase 1 of renovation under Ram Realty, which purchased the mall in 2018.
97.9 The Hill and Chapelboro studios has been located at University Place since 2016.
