The Orange County Arts Commission announced that this year’s arts grants application period is now open.
The commissions grassroots arts program grants and artist project grants both opened on Thursday and will be open for one month, until August 14.
The list of available grants can be found below.
- Grassroots Arts Program Grants: (July 15-August 14) Funded by the NC Arts Council (NCAC) and Orange County, these grants fund arts programs, projects, and services through area nonprofits, schools, and municipal organizations.
- Artist Project Grants: (July 15-August 14) Funded by Orange County, these grants fund artist-led community projects and programs.
- Orange County Arts Support Fund (OCASF) Relief Grants: (July 20-31) Funded by the community, these grants fund artists, arts industry workers, and arts organizations impacted by COVID-19.
- Artist Support Grants: (application opening soon): Supports professional and artistic development for artists of all disciplines through a partnership of the North Carolina Arts Council and the Orange County Arts Commission, Durham Arts Council, Alamance Arts, and Person County Arts Council.
- Emerging Artist Grant Program: (fall, 2020) The Emerging Artists Program (EAP) is a project grant program that provides financial support to developing or established professionals by funding a project pivotal to the advancement of their careers as artists. This is a partnership with Durham Arts Council, OCAC, and Chatham, Person, and Granville County Arts Councils.
Virtual training sessions will be offered to explain the difference between each program and grant. A grants for artists info session will be held on July 21 and a grassroots arts program training session will be held on July 23.
According to the arts commission, a third round of relief grants and two other artists grants will be opening in the near future.
