Both the UNC men’s and women’s basketball teams made moves in the most recent AP Polls, which were released Monday. The women’s team moved up one spot to No. 15, while the men’s team slipped two spots to No. 19.

On the men’s side, the Tar Heels dropped after splitting their final two games of the regular season. Carolina earned a 67-63 home win against Clemson Tuesday night but lost 76-61 at No. 1 Duke in Durham Saturday night. During the week, UNC learned it will be without star freshman Caleb Wilson for the remainder of the season after Wilson broke his right thumb in practice Thursday. ESPN reported Wilson had been trending toward playing vs. Duke after recovering from a fractured left hand which had kept him out for the previous six games.

Elsewhere in the poll, Duke remains atop the rankings at No. 1, while Virginia rises three spots to No. 10. Louisville re-entered the poll at No. 24, and Miami received the most votes of any unranked team. For a full look at the men’s poll, click here.

The women’s team played in the ACC Tournament in Duluth, GA during the past week and reached the semifinals for the second consecutive year. UNC was the No. 3 seed in the field and defeated No. 6 Virginia Tech in the quarterfinals before falling to No. 2 Louisville the next day.

Duke, which won the ACC Tournament, rose five spots to No. 8 in the poll. Louisville sits at No. 13, and Notre Dame re-enters the poll at No. 22 after reaching the ACC semifinals. No other ACC team received any votes. For a full look at the women’s poll, click here.

With the conference tournament concluded, UNC will now wait for its NCAA Tournament bid. That bid will be announced this coming Sunday at 8 p.m.
