UPDATE: The Chapel Hill Police Department shared a message at 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24 saying Forbes was safely located.
Chapel Hill authorities are turning to the public for help in finding and reporting the wellbeing of a teenager reported missing on Monday.
An alert from the Chapel Hill Police Department said it is looking to locate 14-year-old Saniya Lovely Forbes. Forbes is described as a young Black woman who is 5-foot-2 tall and weighing around 130 pounds. She was last seen around 10 p.m. Sunday in the area of Timber Hollow Court, which is part of the Timber Hollow Apartment Homes complex off of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Police explicitly said in their release that Forbes is believed to have run away and it is not known what clothing she was wearing when the teenager left.
