Former UNC star Armando Bacot has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies. The team shared a press release confirming the news on Friday.

An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, non-guaranteed deal for the league’s minimum salary. The contract can also include an optional bonus of up to $75,000 which will be rewarded if a player is waived and then spends at least 60 days with that team’s G League affiliate.

An Exhibit 10 deal can also be converted into a two-way contract, which allows the organization to shuttle the player back and forth between its NBA and G League teams.

In his five seasons in Chapel Hill, Bacot became Carolina’s single-season and all-time leading rebounder, while leading the Tar Heels to the 2022 national championship game. In that NCAA Tournament run, Bacot became the first Division 1 player ever to record double-doubles in all six tournament games. His eight career NCAA Tournament double-doubles tied Antawn Jamison for the school record.

Bacot’s 2,347 career points scored are the second-most in UNC history, trailing only Tyler Hansbrough. Bacot also holds the ACC records for most career games played (169) and starts (168).

Bacot previously appeared with the Utah Jazz in the NBA Summer League after signing an Exhibit 10 contract with them in June.
