Former UNC standout Cormac Ryan has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Exhibit 10 contracts allow a team to bring a player in for preseason training camp, with the possibility of elevating that contract into a two-way deal or waiving the player before the season begins.

Ryan spent the final season of his collegiate eligibility with Carolina after stints at Stanford and Notre Dame. As a Tar Heel, Ryan averaged 11.5 points per game while shooting 35.4 percent on three-pointers. In road matchups at Virginia and Duke, Ryan hit six threes to help Carolina earn wins in both games. In the game at Duke, Ryan netted a career-high 31 points as the Tar Heels clinched the ACC regular-season title. It was the most points a Tar Heel had scored against Duke since 1998. Ryan also led the team in free-throw percentage (87.4) and scored in double figures 21 times, including each of UNC’s three NCAA Tournament games.

Following the season, the men’s basketball program gave Ryan the Marvin Williams Carolina Way Award, which honors “the player who best exemplifies playing hard, being unselfish and thinking of the team first.”
