The UNC men’s basketball program revealed its ACC opponents for the 2026-27 season. It will be the second since the league shifted from a 20-game schedule to an 18-game schedule. Like in 2025-26, the Tar Heels will play two opponents twice, 14 opponents once and not play one other league school at all during the regular season.

As usual, UNC will play two games against rival Duke. This coming season, the Tar Heels will also play two games against Louisville.

Carolina will host home ACC fixtures against Cal, Georgia Tech, Miami, NC State, SMU, Stanford and Virginia. On the road, UNC will visit Boston College (who the Tar Heels did not play at all last season), Florida State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. The Tar Heels will not play Clemson in the regular season for the first time since 1951, two years prior to the ACC’s inception. No dates or tip-off times have been finalized for the ACC portion of UNC’s schedule.

Once again, UNC will play only one regular-season game against rival NC State. Carolina dropped the only matchup in Raleigh last season, and 2025-26 was the first time the Wolfpack had not visited Chapel Hill since 1919.

The 2026-27 season will be the program’s first under head coach Michael Malone, who was hired in April to replace the outgoing Hubert Davis.
