Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation is inviting community members of all abilities to public listening sessions to help design a new inclusive playground at the Community Center Park. According to the town, the project “aims to create a space where people of all abilities can play together and enjoy the benefits of outdoor recreation.”

The first listening session will take place on Sunday, February 11 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., in Room B of the Chapel Hill Public Library. The second session will be on Thursday, February 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel Hill Community Center’s meeting room. Those who can’t make either session are encouraged to take an online survey here.

Barrs Recreation Playground Equipment will be present at both sessions to showcase its latest items and answer questions.

“Our listening sessions are interactive, relaxed and open conversations,” the town’s release read. “Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation is committed to creating a playground that promotes inclusivity and encourages all members of our community to engage in outdoor recreation. We look forward to your participation in shaping this exciting project and making it a reality.”
