
The UNC women’s basketball team will continue play in the NCAA Tournament Friday night in Greensboro. The Tar Heels are the No. 5 seed in the region, and will take on No. 1 overall seed South Carolina in the Sweet 16. Carolina is attempting to advance to its first Elite Eight since 2014. If you aren’t making the trip down Interstate 40 for the game, here’s how to follow along at home:
Broadcast Schedule
Those hoping to listen to the game on the radio with Matt Krause on the call can do so at 97.9 FM and 1360 AM, or by streaming the radio broadcast on Chapelboro.com.
97.9 The Hill’s radio coverage of the game will begin at 6 p.m. with Countdown to Tip-Off. At 6:30 p.m., the broadcast will shift over to Krause in Greensboro for pre-game coverage for half an hour.
At 7 p.m., play-by-play coverage of the game by Krause and the Tar Heel Sports Network will begin. Immediately after the conclusion of the game, WCHL’s broadcast will shift over to the men’s basketball team’s Sweet 16 game against UCLA in Philadelphia.
The women’s basketball portion of the broadcast will be available live on the radio or by streaming on Chapelboro.com.
TV Schedule
Television coverage of the game begins at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN. As of today, Spectrum, Dish, Xfinity and DirectTV all carry ESPN.
What if I don’t have cable?
A live stream will be available through ESPN’s online platforms. Additionally, several cord-cutting options carry ESPN.
YouTube TV prices at $65/month and carries all of ESPN’s channels.
Hulu TV also goes for $70/month and includes all of ESPN’s channels, but does not carry MLB Network, NBA TV or NFL Red Zone.
Sling TV is the cheapest at $35/month. Be sure to avoid Sling Blue, as that package does not carry ESPN.
