A new investigation at the Orange County’s Sheriff’s Office is revving up.
The sheriff’s office reported three separate Orange County residents having all-terrain vehicles, better known as ATVs, stolen from their properties overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning.
Two of the thefts happened in the northern part of the county off Corbett Ridge Road and Carr Store Road, according to investigators. Those residences are just more than three miles apart. One victim reported their ATV being in a locked shed that was forced into by the thief or thieves. The other ATV taken was reportedly in a back yard with no fuel, leading authorities to believe the four-wheelers were loaded onto a trailer.
A third theft was reported in Efland, with a dirt bike stolen alongside an ATV. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said this property was more than ten miles from the location of the two other thefts.
In all three cases, according to sheriff’s investigators, the four-wheelers were not visible to people passing by on roads. At the moment, authorities say there is no known connection between the thefts.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office described the stolen vehicles as:
· a 2020 Suzuki King Quad 400 (dark green with chrome wheels)
· a 2006 Honda Foreman 500
· a 1989 Yamaha Banshee (red and black with “Joker” graphics, yellow hand grips and yellow spokes)
· 2013 Kawasaki KX 450 with a green front fender, chain guard, and rotor guard. The bike is missing the rear fender and does not have an exhaust pipe.

Anyone who may have seen these stolen vehicles or may have information on the thefts are encouraged to call them. The sheriff’s office said Borland can be reached by phone number 919-245-2915, while Investigator Nazworth can be reached at 919-245-2960.
