“King Mackerel & The Blues Are Running: Songs & Stories of the Carolina Coast” – a theatrical performance celebrating the music and culture of coastal Carolina – celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. Of course, in a year when all performances look a little different, this particular milestone is set to be celebrated with a series of free streaming performances.

“King Mackerel & The Blues Are Runnings: Songs & Stories of the Carolina Coast” depicts “tall tales and rollicking songs” told by The Coastal Cohorts – Bland Simpson, Jim Wann and Don Dixon. Stories of fish, ghosts, first loves and ones that got away blend into one another in a tapestry of coastal life that’s been on stage for more than three decades.

In an event taking place December 9 through December 12 at 7:30 p.m. each night, the original cast of the show will be streamed to fans for free via YouTube and Facebook, with more ways to watch available on the King Mackerel website. Original music from the show, both old and all-new, will be available to purchase on Bandcamp with proceeds benefitting coastal conservation efforts.
