Residents in Hillsborough and Orange County will have an opportunity to get tested for coronavirus for free on Friday.
Orange County Health is testing residents from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Whitted Human Services Center in Hillsborough. Testing is free and the department will perform tests on everyone, regardless if they are showing symptoms or not.
If you’re unable to make it to Friday’s testing event, there are several other free opportunities from the Orange County Health department.
Every Wednesday, there is free testing at the R7 parking lot in Chapel Hill (725 MLK Jr. Blvd.) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration will occur on site and patients can meet with an on-site provider prior to testing.
There is free testing on the third Saturday of every month from 10 a .m. to 2 p.m. at Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Hurdle Mills. Additionally, there is free testing on the fourth Saturday of every month from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill.
As of Thursday, October 1, Orange County is reporting 2,703cases and 56 deaths from COVID-19.
