Chapel Hill Police arrested three people following a physical altercation involving gunshots on Sunday.
Authorities arrested 18-year-old Tylen Baldwin and 36-year-old Natonya Davis on assault charges. Baldwin’s charges involve his pointing and firing a handgun in an occupied dwelling, as well as a charge for assault with intent to kill or cause serious injury. Police arrested Davis, who is employed by UNC, on charges of affray assault and battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and cocaine possession.
A third person, Brianna Walker, 39, was arrested as well, on felony cocaine possession and criminal summons charges.
Police were dispatched after reports of shots fired at an address on Weaver Dairy Road near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Authorities said Baldwin, Davis and Walker were involved in a physical altercation that resulted in a gun being drawn and fired. The trio got into a vehicle and left the scene. A spokesperson for the Chapel Hill Police Department said no one was injured by the gunshots fired.
Police stopped and questioned the three on Whitfield Road near NC Highway 86 shortly after the original dispatch.
Baldwin is being held at the Orange County Jail under a secured $60,000 bond. Davis and Walker were assigned $21,500 and $15,000 bonds, respectively. All three are scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
