UNC freshman point guard Cole Anthony was named Tuesday as a Preseason Second Team All-American by NBC Sports, as the beginning of college basketball season continues to inch ever so closer.

The No. 4 incoming recruit in the country regardless of position according to 24/7 Sports, Anthony is expected to step right into the Tar Heel lineup as a difference maker.

At UNC’s annual Late Night With Roy event this past Friday, Anthony gave fans in Chapel Hill their first live glimpse of what his potential can be–draining a pair of pull-up three-pointers during the team scrimmage, while also electrifying the crowd with a windmill dunk during the skills competition.

The son of former NBA player Greg Anthony also showed he doesn’t lack for confidence either, soaking up the crowd’s cheers during his introduction before taking off his jersey and spinning it around his head to thunderous applause.

With the departures of Luke Maye, Kenny Williams, Coby White and Nassir Little following last season, the door is wide open for Anthony to flourish in head coach Roy Williams’ up-tempo offense this season.
