The last two days have seen three separate trades happen in the NBA involving former UNC players, but the most recent saw a pair of Tar Heels traded for one another.
Late Wednesday night, the Sacramento Kings sent 2017 ACC Player of the Year Justin Jackson alongside veteran forward Zach Randolph to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for forward Harrison Barnes.
This deal comes one day after guard Reggie Bullock went from the Detroit Pistons to the Los Angeles Lakers, and just hours after guard Wayne Ellington was sent from the Miami Heat to the Phoenix Suns.
Barnes is averaging 17.8 points per game this year, but is shooting just 41 percent from the floor. Sacramento is hoping he can improve on that figure and help the Kings make a run at a playoff berth.
Dallas, meanwhile, is in the middle of a rebuilding project and will be taking in Jackson–who is averaging 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in his second year in the league.
Both Barnes and Jackson have their college numbers–40 and 44–honored in the rafters at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill.
