UNC and the American Red Cross are joining forces for the 18th Annual Holiday Carolina Blood Drive on Tuesday.

The blood drive is scheduled to run from 7:30 Tuesday morning until one o’clock in the afternoon in Fetzer Hall on South Road.

The drive is sponsored by the Employee Forum and works to support the Red Cross in its mission to make blood available to those in need.

Employee Forum member and chair of the blood drive planning committee Jim Fuller said in a release they have set a goal of 400 pints of blood this year.

“UNC students, faculty and staff have supported the Carolina Blood Drive for many years because we understand the importance of fulfilling the University’s mission to serve. We hope the Carolina community will come out in full force to help us reach our goal of 400 pints of blood. That would be a great way to show how much Tar Heels care about their community.”

Free parking is available in the Cobb Deck off of Country Club Road. A blood donor card or official identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years old – or 16 with parental consent – weighing at least 110 pounds and in good health may be eligible to donate.
